 This program prepares candidates for a career as a Graphic Novelist, employable at newspapers, advertising agencies, magazines, or publishing houses.  This program covers applied fine arts and drawing within the field of publishing.  It is a stand-alone qualification of two (2) years duration.

 This program prepares candidates for a career as a copy writer, novelist, journalist, magazine editor, employable at newspapers, advertising agencies, magazines, or publishing houses.  This program also focuses on the art of storytelling, enabling candidates to pursue a career as a self-published writer.  It is a stand-alone qualification of two (2) years duration.

Total number of credits:  240 credits.

 This program is also called “Film making”, which embodies all aspects of industrial art for publication to television or cinema film.  The program focuses on cinematography, and builds strongly on the foundation of basic photography and lighting.  Students will have the opportunity to work in various fields on a real film set for both film and television, gaining experience in the following areas:

*     Cinematography (camera work)
*     Lighting (key grip)
*     Set production (production designer)
*     Writing (screenwriter)
*     Sound (sound designer, both practical sound and ADR sound)
*     Color keying (working on special effects and color grading for film)
*     Drama/Acting
*     Music (focussing on both film score and songwriting)
*     Visual effects (both practical effects and special effects)
*     Editing
*     Publishing/Broadcasting

This is a stand-alone degree program of three (3) years duration.

 This program prepares candidates for a career as an animator.  Animators are employed in all forms of publishing, advertising, film-making, and television broadcasts.  This program relies heavily on drawing and composition, especially life drawing skills.  Students will learn both traditional 2D animation and digital 3D animation.  It is a stand-alone qualification of two (2) years duration.

 This program prepares candidates for a career as a publisher.  Publishers are responsible for editing and publishing written work within a publishing house.  This program relies heavily on creative writing and marketing and principles of consumer behavior.  A strong language aptitude is required for this program.  It is a stand-alone qualification of two (2) years duration.

 This program prepares candidates for a career as an advertising agent.  Advertising agents are responsible for the creative “idea” behind commercials and advertising material for products.  This program relies heavily on a strong language aptitude, creative writing skill, and creative lateral thinking skills.  It is a stand-alone qualification of two (2) years duration.

 This program prepares candidates for a career as a game/software developer.  This program concentrates on programming in C# within a game engine to create interactive 3D game content.  Candidates should have a strong language- and mathematical aptitude.  Students will learn how to create stunning 3D environments and character assets for PC, MAC, XBOX360, PS3, and PS4 platforms.  Students will learn principles of consumer behaviour to better understand the basis for enjoyable gameplay and/or software interaction.  This is a stand-alone qualification of three (3) years duration.

 Candidates who wish to enroll for any of the programs offered in this school, must hold a senior certificate (Grade 12) with a minimum of 25 APS points.  Selection will be done on the basis of merit, and students demonstrating strong language and creative aptitude are encouraged to apply.
